The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco Nasser Bourita participated as a speaker in the sixth edition of the Rome MED – Mediterranean Dialogues Conference, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
“Morocco thinks of Africa as a continent full of challenges but also of enormous opportunities, able to count on itself”, said Minister Bourita during his speech.
“Morocco – continued Bourita – is an Afro-optimistic country. We believe that Africa is the continent of the future. It presents many challenges, but also many assets such as demographic trends, the vitality of its companies and economic opportunities. Every year more than 30 million Africans enter the middle class, with all that this entails in terms of consumption ”.
Minister Nasser Bourita also underlined the role of Morocco during the most critical period of the pandemic: “During the Covid-19 crisis, His Majesty King Mohammed VI gave instructions to share part of the Moroccan production of fans, for example, throughout the continent. His Majesty, in fact, thinks that Africa can count on itself. South-South cooperation is not just on paper, it can help solve many problems. Our policy is not aimed only at a specific sector, but it is a strategy with a clear vision ”.
