On May 4, the Italian Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay, together with  the Italian fashion school Istituto Marangoni and Moweek, organized an event entitled “Italian fashion and the new Uruguayan designers.  Collaborations and training “.

The aim of the meeting was to present the Italian fashion in Uruguay and to promote the training in Italy of new local talents.

The exhibition included some of the most renowned Italian brands, such as Valentino, Versace, Cavalli, Missoni and Volantis and managed to convey – through the presentation of prominent garments and accessories exhibited in different areas of the halls – the characteristics of the style and the quality of Italian products, as well as the vocation to share the traditions and skills acquired over the years.

Among the participants were also protagonists of the fashion world such as Mariana Muzi, coordinator of ORT Design, fashion stylists Ramiro De León and Margo Baridón, fashion journalist Verónica Massonnier, Ángela Rubino of the Istituto Marangoni and Marinés Strasser of Strasser Institute.

The “Estrella” project by the fashion designer Amalia Branáa, who studied in Milan at the Istituto Marangoni, was also presented.

In addition, some of the works of the young Uruguayans, winners of the NABA & Moweek Edition 2019 and 2021 competition, were exhibited: Martín González and Gala Vila , who will soon resume their training in Italy.

The event was presented as an opportunity to celebrate the ties of fashion between Italy and Uruguay, also promoting the exchange and training of Uruguayan designers in Italy.
