Luiss University announces an opportunity for PhD Visiting Periods with scholarship reserved for PhD students of Ukrainian nationality 

Luiss University, a well-known private university based in Rome, just launched a new initiative to support PhD students from Ukraine. The initiative comes only a few weeks after the University announced it would offer 10 scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students from Ukraine.

Ukrainian PhD students who are already enrolled in a PhD program in Ukrainian universities and need to pursue a Visiting Period abroad may apply for a 3 month Visiting Period, renewable for 3 additional months, within the four doctoral programs offered by Luiss University.  

Luiss University offers two types of scholarships for incoming Ukrainian Visiting PhD candidates:  

  1. Scholarship A – three-month Luiss scholarship amounting to € 1,278.61 gross per month. Meals, accommodation, and any further living costs incurred by the PhD candidate 

OR 

  1. Scholarship B – three-month Luiss scholarship amounting to € 500 gross per month. Meals and accommodation covered by Luiss.   

The procedure to apply for this opportunity is as follows:  

  1. The PhD candidate will need to identify and contact a Luiss professor within the Doctoral program who will supervise the research during the Visiting period. 
  2. While submitting the application, the PhD candidate will need to specify the type of scholarship they wish to apply for (A or B).
