“Area Italia”, the Italian stand set up by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain and featuring 14 Italian enterprises, was inaugurated by Italy’s Ambassador to Spain, Riccardo Guariglia, together with Spain’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, and Chamber of Commerce President, Marco Pizzi.

Italy was the only foreign country taking part in the exhibition with a dedicated stand, Area Italia, an exclusive space of 180 m2 dedicated to regional food and wine excellences.

Among the Italian specialties presented at the fair we find creams based on pistachio of Bronte, craft beers, oils and sauces based on truffles, in addition to the different types of products that distinguish the wide range of Italian cuisine: pasta, liqueurs, baked goods, sausages, wines and cheeses.

“Our constant presence at food and beverage events in Spain – Ambassador Guariglia said – proves that the institutions and the several players of Italy’s economic system want to continue to be present in a market that is very important for us. Through our presence we have given the Spanish people the opportunity to appreciate, throughout the years, the great variety of the Italian offer in this sector, which is strategic for us”.

Italy’s participation has always been in the spotlight for the quality of the products presented and the opportunities offered by the Spanish market, composed of over 47 million consumers and characterized by an important tradition in the agri-food sector.
