Mexico dedicated an entire week to Italy as part of the “Festival del Mundo 2021” review: from 14 to 25 June, San Miguel de Allende, in the State of Guanajuato in Mexico, will host a series of events.

Thanks to a collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Mexico City, all over the country it will be possible to attend musical performances, conferences, projections, in addition to the exhibitions “Dante goes to the carnival” – dedicated to the allegorical floats of Viareggio inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy – and “Journey to Tulum”.

“San Miguel de Allende is one of the most attractive cities in Mexico. We enthusiastically welcomed their interest in Italy and our Cultural Institute worked intensively on the project. Culture recovers its spaces and Italy can only be present ” declared the Ambassador of Italy to Mexico, Luigi De Chiara, who inaugurated the exhibition together with the city authorities.

The Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico is always very present and active in the area. On 2 June, in fact, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Rome, the capital of Italy, the Institute inaugurated a virtual exhibition on the Eternal City, where ancient and modern coexist and which represents a unique melting pot of languages, and styles.
The virtual path, conceived together with the Department of Architecture of the Roma Tre University, narrates the evolution of a city destined, since its foundation, tobecome a myth, through the work of the great masters of art history. The power of the Roman Empire, medieval twilight, Renaissance splendour, the richness of the Baroque and the nostalgia of Romanticism are all main themes of the exhibition.
