With the beginning of the second and last part of Expo Dubai 2020, Tuscany and the Autonomous Province of Trento join the 15 Italian Regions already participating in the initiatives and events of the Italian Pavilion.

“For our Regions and territories, Expo Dubai – the first edition of the Universal Expo to be held in a country of the Arab, Middle-Eastern, North African and South-East Asia region – is a unique stage that can boost visibility in a world that over the next few years will offer remarkable investment opportunities while also giving new momentum to the flow of international tourists” said italian Minister for Regional Affairs Mariastella Gelmini.
With the participation of Tuscany and Trento, Italy registered greatest participation of Italian local and regional bodies in a Universal Exposition.
In fact, the Italian Pavilion already includes – in addition to the two new entries – the Regions of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Piedmont, Apulia, Sardinia, Sicily, Umbria, Veneto.

“The Italian Regions – added the Minister – are the great protagonists: Italy’s project for Expo Dubai chiefly aims at enhancing the artistic, productive and scientific fabric of Italian territories, even thanks to the strong involvement of the territories and their excellences and peculiarities”.
The implementation of international initiatives and the organization of activities dedicated to their territory, have given regional entities an increasingly central role in the calendar of events organized by the Pavilion.
The local excellences showcased at the Italy Pavilion represent the Beauty that connects People (the- claim chosen by Italy for its participation in Expo Dubai) through the narration of the country’s landscapes and its artistic masterpieces. Furthermore, in Dubai, the Italian Regions present the “Know-How” of enterprises operating in key sectors of the Italian and global economy: aerospace, manufacturing and craftsmanship, cinema, automotive, tourism, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, climate change, sustainable agriculture, seamanship and management of water resources.

According to president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and chair of the Italian Conference of Regions, Massimiliano Fedriga, “the participation of the Regions is the clearest evidence of what we are doing – also as a Conference of Regions – for the promotion of Made in Italy and for the internationalization of our companies and our excellence”.
