Italian companies participated at AgriteQ-EnviroteQ fair, the exhibition entirely dedicated to agriculture and the environment, held in Doha las March – from 23rd to 27th – and organised by the Qatari Environmental Ministry at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). Italian pavilion was provided by the Italian Embassy in Doha and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE)– the Governmental agency that supports the business development of Italian companies abroad and promotes the attraction of foreign investment in Italy. Italian companies, even if unable to attend because of travel limitations due to the health emergency, offered a physical and virtual space to dedicate to their businesses.

Visitors, instead, with QR codes, received information on the businesses directly on their mobile phones or computers, and they had also the possibility to organise business meetings remotely. Italian companies that, in spite of the difficult period, decided to continue their work were eleven: AgriBio Srl (SeedFuture Group), Faber-Com Srl, Horto (FRI-EL GREEN HOUSE Srl), Idromeccanica Lucchini Spa, Kiasma Srl, Leonardo Spa, Maire Tecnimont Spa, NextChem Spa, Ponics Srl, Saipem Spa and Watercube Srl.

Also in Doha, last December, Italy participated in a round table on the Green Economy chaired by the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. “Italy is continuing to collaborate with Qatar for sustainable growth and energy transformation. We are therefore happy to participate in this fair also to show the innovative environmental and agricultural solutions that our companies are able to offer” said the Italian Ambassador to Qatar, Alessandro Prunas at the inauguration of the event.
Italy’s participation at the trade fair highlights Italy’s leading role in innovation and ecological transition. To underline the aspect of the green economy, the Italian pavilion also hosted an area dedicated to the role of our country in environmental diplomacy and the involvement of younger generations in the fight against climate change.

“Climate change, environment protection, food security and prosperity are all strictly interconnected. In 2021 Italy has a great responsibility in contributing to respond to global challenges and in encouraging the transition towards a sustainable and greener growth. AgriteQ & EnviroteQ Exhibition is the ideal framework to introduce Italy’s comprehensive vision and strategy. Italy and Qatar are dedicated partners whose joint commitment can make the difference in leading the way towards energy efficiency, innovative technologies and digitalization” concluded Ambassador Prunas.
