CIBUS was a winning bet” said Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti while visiting the exhibition. “Four months ago, when we decided to organize the fair, many questions were raised. As a government we should thank all the people who accept these bets and help the country win them”.

The numbers of the 20th edition speak for themselves: almost 40.000 visitors – 2.000 of them from abroad – that demonstrate the desire to learn more about the diversity and the quality of Made-in-Italy food, one of the main components of Italian exports.

Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma, said he was very pleased with how the international event, which is one of the most important in the food field, turned out: “Some of the main international actors, that could not be here, sent their sourcers and brokers so they wouldn’t lose the opportunity to discover the innovations at the fair. CIBUS is exactly this: our agri-food innovative capacity meets an increasing global demand of authentic Italian [products]”.

This was a long-awaited event, which saw the involvement of the major stakeholders and Italian and foreign experts, as Gino Gandolfi, President of Fiere di Parma, underlined: “This edition of CIBUS met its goals. The words of praise we received from the exhibitors and the Associations belonging to Federalimentare and the other consortia, allow me to declare that CIBUS 2021 is a challenge won by the agri-food community”.

I also want to underline the attention given to us by the political world, with the participation of three Ministers, and the main actors of the supply chain: agriculture, industry, large-scale distribution and the whole HORECA sector. In the wake of this successful edition of CIBUS, we are already working for a record edition, that will take place in Parma the 3rd of May 2022”.
