On 11 February, Bulgari chose the Louvre Abu Dhabi for the launch of its latest High Jewelery Jannah collection, born from the meeting of two important families who have chosen to collaborate to unite East and West, celebrating shared values and rich common heritage.
The great Italian brand in the luxury sector, in fact, has decided for the first time to start a collaboration with a member of the reigning family of the United Arab Emirates, Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Lucia Silvestri, Creative Director of Bulgari for High Jewelery, spent many hours with Sheikha Fatima, listening to her stories and sharing her admiration for her grandparents and their tireless pursuit of tolerance and peace in the region.
After more than two years, the work has given birth to jewels inspired by the five petals in Carrara marble that adorn the ceiling of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which testifies to a great bond between Abu Dhabi and Rome. The mosque, for example, also open to non-Muslims, was designed by an Arab architect, but built by Salini Impregilo, a leading Italian group in the construction of major works and infrastructures.
One of the first pieces created for the collection was a necklace, which the Princess wanted to give to her grandmother, but with a special touch: the engraving of her grandfather’s name in Arabic.
The inauguration of the line, held under the Louvre dome, was attended by local and international guests, including the celebrity Sonam Kapoor, longtime friend of the Bulgari brand and protagonist of the special video dedicated to Jannah.
