Eleven Italian start-ups have been selected to participate in the second edition of the Global Start Up Program, an integrated development project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and implemented by the ICE Agency and hosted by the Dubai Future Foundation. In Dubai, Italian start-ups will have the opportunity to explore new businesses and attract international investments.

The initiative includes an 8-week training in which companies will carry out a path of refinement of skills and functional management know-how to improve their business models and establish themselves more and more also on international markets. Activities include mentoring sessions, networking events with investors, presentation and pitching events, business development, social and cultural activities, off-site visits, including the EXPO2020 Innovation Lab.

The areas of intervention of the 11 Italian startups participating in the program range from the most disparate technological skills such as in the field of renewable energy, artificial intelligence, food technology and other sectors. “Despite these difficult times, we are happy to bring 11 innovative Italian startups to the UAE showing the vitality of Italy’s start-up sector, which has boomed over the years with 11,900 startups registered in Italy as of December 2020. Indeed, innovation is key for the further growth of the economic relations between Italy and the UAE and Dubai Future Foundation is an outstanding partner in this project” declered the Ambassador of Italy to the United Arab Emirates, Nicola Lener.

Among the winners of the tender that bring Italian innovation to the Emirates is BCC Studio, which deals with consulting services in the field of Blockchain systems for navigation in the Crypto Sphere; Biopic, specialized in smart agriculture and technologically advanced cultivation systems; Tolemaica (Cyber Management Srl), which focuses its core business on the creation of IT solutions for the web; Geeks Academy Europe, which organizes training courses for the growth of digital talents; MIEEG, active in the energy field for the production of micro electric generators.

Then there is FindMyLost, active in the management of lost & found applied to the business and consumer sectors; Lazy, a young reference company for knowledge management in the field of corporate repository systems; Strategic BIM, which operates in the Building Information Modeling sector for new or existing buildings; Symbiagro, specialized in the production and marketing of innovative and high-tech biofertilizers and biostimulants products; UOSE, which oversees projects for the use of big data analysis applied to social networks for e-commerce platforms; Valiamo, specializing in the production of hospital equipment and medical solutions.
